remember my weathered wood? well, i finally did something with it! i took the house apart, and using some...

lamps, lamps, everywhere!

i'm FINALLY done with these bedside lamps.  it feels like it took forever!  check out the befores and afters and all the details at my blog, curlyampcraftylamps...

help me with my beautiful weathered wood!!!

this birdhouse wood is so beautifully weathered, and i'm dying to use it to mount some sand dollars on, but the color is just not working for me, and i don't want paint chipping everytime i move it...

from terra cotta to whole lotta red!

i went to the renovation station a month or so ago. it's a store selling new and used construction/building supplies, hardware, etc. and all the proceeds go to habitat for humanity. awesomei...

depends on your definition of "junk"...

i'm so excited to turn junk into something great.  the possibility, the creativity, the joy of transformation!  usually, i think of junk as old stuff, but today i turned some brand new junk...

you can't always get what you want...

but sometimes you get what you need!  i've been talking with my mom about how i'd like a nice long rectangular mirror to hang over my headboard.  i think it would open up the room...

i'm in the process of redecorating my bedroom.  this is the first time ever that i've ever really decorated.  before, i just bought what was cheap, or had hand me downs from friends and...

thank you both so much! great ideas and encouragement. i am definitely not used to thinking so far out of the box with my junk. i'm looking forward to a new perspective though. and learning carpentry, painting, etc. :)

sweet! i'm so jealous. the thrift stores i have found here (so far) either don't have what i'm looking for or are WAAAAAY overpriced. i'm really jealous of the scrabble tiles!! can't wait to see how you use all this stuff.

i saw some great lamps at the thrift store today. they were brass (gag) but they had such great shapes. i would have loved to buy and make them over, but alas, too broke right now, even for thrift store lamps.

i'm not sure i can offer more suggestions than the other commenters. i could see using it like ribbon in scrapbooking or card making. you could bind a book together with it.
