Ice Tongs Paper Towel Holder
February 18th, 2009 in member junk
This is perhaps the most useful piece of junk I own...It's been hanging over my kitchen sink for nearly thirty years. My dad cut a piece of black polyvinyl pipe slightly longer than a roll of paper towels, with a diameter that is slightly smaller than the cardboard core of the towels. It is then inserted into the core and the pipe is held firmly in place by the pointed ends of the tongs, which are suspended from a ceiling beam by ordinary rope. The pipe allows the towels to roll freely.
Over the years, I've seen many beautiful and functional towel holders, but I'd never think of replacing my junky towel holder, which not only works beautifully and saves space, but has nostalgic charm as well!
