I am crazy for silhouettes, this is the third silhouette project I've done with my girls - each one is done on a different year so - there is a record of sorts.
Most of the lace on here is thrifted. Only the stuff on the cuffs, collar, and pocket flaps were purchased (and then they were remainders).
My favorite is the lace on the bottom which I bought about a year ago - the piece was exactly the right length (almost - which is the excuse for the doily on the buttonhole placket).
I did all the embroidery free-hand.

Who doesn't find stained old doilies and lace, extremely romantic?
This is a belated Christmas gift for my Mom. I had the basic idea several years back. Finally, decided to start it in October and lost my nerve. I finished last week just in time to give it to my Mom when she and Dad came up to watch the girls while Hubs and I were in Mexico.
