The completed photo vignette!
I love playing with the color on pictures.  This was done in a black/white color, with just the color blue coming through.  Gives it a vintage effect.
Its a great way to save wonderful memories of special times with friends!
These are the pieces I started with.  I cut the pictures down to fit.
The exposed piece was removed and the picture inserted.
The exposed piece was then reinserted to hold the picture in place.

The completed photo vignette!

"Picture book, pictures of your mama, taken by your papa long time ago!  Na, na, na, na, na na!"

On that note, I may not be a great singer, but I am a repurpose kind of gal.  When I found these I knew I needed them, and how great a gift would they be for  a photographer!  I looked on EBAY and they called them film holders.  The ones I found on there aren't quite cool as these are, but half the fun is the hunt!

Did you make this?
After you make it, show it off to other members in the Member Junk area.

Bec4 writes: Cute-- I would love to find some of these. And I was a Kinks fan way back when, can't think of this tune though! Posted: 12:20 am on February 21st
CottageElements writes: Hey, Melissa! That song was a song by the "Kinks" called Picture Book. It was in the Hewlett Packard commercial, and since I did this post I can't get it out of my head!! It's really a catchy tune . . . maybe too catchy. I need to start humming something else! Dang!

Btw, Gretchen and I found sound great things in Carver. Check out her blog at http://mimitoriasdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/02/fun-day-in-carver-mn.html. She took lots of pictures! Posted: 10:45 pm on February 20th

Junk_Sophisticate writes: Of course you'd find something totally unique and cool, Lani! I've never seen old film holders before and think they are fabulous. I love how you manipulated the color on the photos to look more vintage.

Fantastic idea and thanks so much for the post!

Kind of cool too, because you, Sue and I were shopping in Buffalo together when you bought these photo displays.
They look very good up in your sitting area. Love it!
