Well, I'm back from the Sunshine State, and had a great time (the weather was a little cool, but that didn't stop us...).  On the way down, we stopped in a little town in Georgia for a couple days - it's called Brunswick (near Jekyll Island on the coast) - very quaint, and quite a few antiquing/junking stops to be found.

One of the best stops was a store called "The Piddler's, Inc." (how appropriate for me...).  The store (more like a warehouse - "a little piece of junk heaven") has been in business since the 30's, and in the same family since the 60s.  Here's a little article about the store - it is sooooo cool! http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/121607/geo_225905044.shtml

I wanted to share some pictures - there were THOUSANDS of things - I think a bunch of us could go in there and start building, repurposing, etc...and not run out of materials for a couple years!  It was a "junker's" paradise for sure!  Hope you enjoy the pictures...

P.S.  Since we traveled in a Honda Civic - I had to be choosy about what I bought, so I picked a wonderful wooden piece from an old treadle sewing machine...will share the finished project later.

Sounds like you had a blast. I've been laying low lately but plan on picking up the speed in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to the flea market season and all that goes with it.

shabbychick writes: So happy to share this trip with everyone (I want to go back - and take all my junk buddies!!). It was a blast!!! The name (Piddlers, Inc.) is so perfect - a person could "piddle" away a whole lotta time and creativity in there (it could be like the "University" of Junkers...!!) Jenny - would you be our first guest "professor"???

Candy - Now that you mention it...on second glance those rusty feet could be mistaken for some rusty old statues...rusty busts!! :) ha ha!!!

Glad you had a good time and welcome back!
