I've been wanting to use vintage playing cards in some kind of art for a while now.  I've been slowly collecting old/vintage/antique decks over time that had really nice artwork or style.  I got a hold of this really old piece of wood and decided it was time to figure out something.

The vintage cards are from France.  I tacked them on in a planned pattern and inner-framed them with some metal came from my stained glass supplies.  Some vintage cloth measuring tape repeats the numbers theme and some metallic silver paint adds a nice touch.

I distressed the paint and finished everything in poly to protect it and to keep the copper "in the present".
