Shoe Form Window Treatment

We attached the shoe mold to the inside of the window frame.  The bar was something we had on hand...and it happened to be long enough to cut down into two for each family room window.
This room is on the lower level and rather dark.  I tried many other valance options before settling on just twine with photos.  The other options just felt dark and dreary.  This keeps it light(er) and airy.
My grandparents...arent they cute??
Having fun with many people do you see in this picture?  It took me a while to see the 4th head ;)
And of course I added a little junk for good measure.
Window #1...
Window #2...
(See those red levels for shelves on the walls??  Thats an oldie but goodie idea from our friend Sue and the first Junk Market book.  Still love them!!)

I wanted to do something fun and whimsical for window treatments in our familyroom.  Here's what I came up with...what do you think?  I think this "shoe fits" :)

Stile writes: I have a painted shoe form of metal, ie, doorstop. Have seen the wooden shoe forms and passed up purchasing them in not knowing what I would do with them. Loving your use and will imitate in my own home. Posted: 10:55 am on October 29th
LloydsLandingofSears writes: I have a friend who makes shoes - and fits and sells diabetic shoes. He has a shop in his garage partitioned off with all his old time equipment and sewing machines, forms, etc...this would be perfect for him, and his wife would love to make something like this for the only little window in there! Thanks for the great idea! ~Mary~ Posted: 7:22 pm on October 21st
