At last falls County Junk Sale in Monticello, MN, I eyed this dolly cart (far left in photo) and knew it could work for the coffee table I had pictured in my head...
After giving it a good cleaning and coat of poly-stain, I decided it needed some height.  Vintage suitcases to the rescue!
After some trial and error, the suitcases fit and looked best this way.
The suitcases are great for storing my magazines and decorating books.

Take one industrial dolly, add some suitcases for height and storage, and you end up with a funky, yet functional, coffee table.  It's totally "me"...

UdyRegan writes: I have personally not seen such an innovative idea for a coffee table. All you have to do is to get a dolly and some vintage looking suitcases and you are all set to go. Not only can you place your food and drinks while enjoying some TV, you can also keep those mess inside the suitcases which provide the perfect amount of storage space that you need. The remote gets in there, the TV schedule book and other knick-knacks that might be lying around that area. Such a brilliant innovation! Posted: 8:44 pm on September 15th

DecorMadeSimple writes: Love the old dolly, if you get tired of the vintage suitcases,
old crate boxes would probably work too. Posted: 2:38 pm on February 24th
