a 'Novel' idea

this is a project I helped out with at work. Every 2 years, there is a Festival of Trees in our area, and the library I work at always submits a creation to be judged. This year we made a novel-tree (get it?).

I thought ya'll might be interested in this since it's made entirely of upcycled materials. Discarded library books make up the structure of the tree/house. The front facade is black foam core (found in the storage room) with pinecone 'shingles' glued on. I made the door out of cardboard, popsicle sticks, paint, glue and stain with a gold colored screw for the knob.

I also found the tiny little wreath (was an ornament) at a thrift shop. The librarian action figure in front belongs to the library, and so does her sack of books.

If you live in New Hampshire, go to the Festival of Trees and vote for us!
