Old mailbox used as vase (in this case a vase holder).
I placed a vase down in the bottom of this one with budding tree limbs.

Recently replaced my grandma's mailbox and this was too good to not keep.  Wasn't sure at the time what I would use it for, but knew I would find a good use for it!   I'm currently using it as a vase (vase holder) for flowers and tree limbs.  I thought about hanging it on my front porch, but for now I like decorating with it inside.  It would also make a great umbrella stand.

One of the best features is that both sides have her address on it.  One side has old worn and faded stickers that I probably put on there about 15 years ago.  The other side shows the faded hand-written address that was probably done by my grandpa, who's been gone for over 20 years.  Not only is this piece junky and a great piece of art - but it's also a piece of family!

I've even used one to hold bird feed, and keep it safe from raccoons. Your use is much prettier! Posted: 10:21 am on May 14th
