A New Wave of Junk

Here is our mystery piece all done up and ready to go!
The ugly duckling awaiting transformation.
A little Rustoleum hammered finish spray paint washed its rubbery blues away!
I added a flange at the bottom for hanging. I glued it into place with Gorilla Super Glue before screwing in the large eye bolt.
A large hollow threaded rod covers the four prongs in the center. The eye bolt slips through the center and attaches to the flange at the bottom. This is a sturdy hanging device and adds a touch of industrial to an otherwise cottage looking chandelier.
Slip a rope through the eye bolt and hang!
Fill with canning jars of similar sizes. Mine are four inches at the bottom and six inches tall.
I chose to fill every other jar with flowers and the others with sand and candles, but you could do anything you like. If you filled only with sand and candles the chandelier would take on a much more contemporary look. What is the mystery junk???

This was a big hit at the Country Living Fair as part of the "Autumnal Dining Room". Can you guess what the round piece is? It sure was ugly when I found it but now....not so much!

Two of you are correct!! It is a dishwasher basket...truly a piece of junk. Thanks so much for all of your kind words. This was a fun project.
