Been a while since I was here to visit, but I havent stopped creating!!

I made this lamp for a friend of mine as a gift for his father.  He's not much  of a coffee lover- more of an outdoorsman with hunting, fishing and camping.

This lamp is built on a found frame from the second had store- then from the bottom up, I added a 1/2" slice of stained tree trunk, then the books (titles: The Life of Rivers and Streams/ Saving Fish from Drowning/ Papa my Father/ A Walk in the Woods/ On Eagles Wings/ How to Father). I drlled holes through the books to position them just so, and also through the cup and kettle to hold them in place.  this is all one piece!

The camp style teakettle and tin cup add to the theme; I wrapped the found shade with a tossed pattern of small leaves, then used a couple of grape ivy wreaths that I tore apart to add an earthy feel. I used three pheasant feathers vertically to hide the seams of the fabric, with small bunches of feathers at the top and bottom of each. Line switch.

Pattern or design used: My own design - Larry Moad
