Sassy Sunflowers!
Wonderful Watermelons!

It is really hard to find barnboard in large quanties around where I live...boy oh boy did I ever luck out!! About a month ago I found a couple that took down the one side of their barn and had a huge pile that I bought from them. I have well over 1000 board feet of the wonderful stuff...what ever you do with barnboard it always turns out nice. I want to sell them along with my other stuff at our local farmers market come this June. I love sharp and unique angles on things that I create so I created this style to give it a kinda whimsical/funky look. We will also make ones all  out of barnboard without the fancy front. Again I cannot tell you how much I LOVE podge...the fronts are pine and  I podged napkins on the front, and then double spray painted with outdoor varathane...the other I used outdoor grey caulking and stuck in river stones. A cute little chimney finishes off the houses. I will also make other designs and will post when I can :)

*Please note that when working with napkins you must separate them (there is always 3 layers) and use only the first one with the design on or it will not adhere to whatever you me I learned the hard way :)

junktiqueboutique writes: Congratulations on the barn wood. And your birdhouses are whimsical in a funky way. If I was a bird I'd have a hard time picking which one to live in. Posted: 4:38 pm on May 12th

JunkArchitect writes: You bought 1,000 board feet of old barn board…lucky you! I’d go nuts if I found 100 feet…even 10 feet! You did a great job and I really like the funky shape.
