Just Fakin' a Cake

Although I love to make things, I do not like to bake.  So, I thought I'd make some pretty, but inedible, cakes for the table. I took some old bundt pans and spray-painted them. Then I dribbled on some hot-glue icing and added some gum drops and other holiday embellishments. The brown one was supposed to look like a spice cake. The mold I used for it already had that pile of fruit on the top built into the mold, so I just painted it like fruit and added glass beads.  Yummy! I think my husband would have preferred some real cake, but oh well...  ;^}

I'm just seeing this, go figure.
I also see you posted on my son's birthday...had I known they were here I could have shown it to him, and said Happy Birthday! He didn't have a cake this year and these would have been a wonderful substitute. Clever idea! Posted: 7:30 pm on February 15th

Christina_S writes: Very clever, your icing really makes it look realistic. If I walked in to your house I would be super excited as I approached the table, then disappointed, then a different kind of super excited :) Posted: 11:13 pm on January 11th
