This is the fireplace that my husband rebuilt. It was all rocks when we moved in. Now its the warmth of our home.
Everyone loves the fireplace even the two little weiner dogs.
this was the livingroom when we moved it... BIG DIFFERENCE

This is the fireplace that my husband rebuilt. It was all rocks when we moved in. Now it's the "warmth" of our home.

Our fireplace is made from all salvaged bricks and was my husband's own design. We have an insert wood burner and it's our main source of heat. We love it. My husband loves archs, so he designed the arches to over the main fireplace and the little window area to the side for the candle and lighter that we have there. The top of the fireplace is old barn wood that is made into a panel and then attached to the wall. We used slate that we got discounted from a local home store and bricks that we bought at a garage sale for the flooring. We removed the two windows along sides of the fireplace so we can enjoy the warmth.. We love grays and reds so we use them as accents with wood, brick and paint when we can. This is also yet another place we salute our Army sons, with their official photos displayed.
