I found this door last weekend at a flea market for $8 - couldn't pass it up, even though I don't know what the heck I'm going to do with it!  Any of you clever people have ideas?

LloydsLandingofSears writes: This is a beaut of an 'ol door with it's 5 panels. I like the ideas of putting hooks/hangers/nails/shelves on it and changing out the itens throughout the year for whims or seasons. You could move it from room to room too! Love the blue! ~Mary~ Posted: 10:32 am on May 1st

texasjunkgypsy writes: Well knock me down and call me a rug!!! That is the purtiest door I've ever seen. I would change out one of my bedroom doors or kitchen door and put it there for all the world to see!!! I love to use screen doors or old doors inside the house!!! Great find. MimiToria writes: I too love your door. The color and patina is fabulous as is, and I agree that I would do very little to it. Maybe, the idea of it leaning in a corner and have a chair next to it, you could even hang a cool mirrror off of it towards the top that has the vintage look too. A linen chair with wood trim would be fabulous displayed with this.
ALso, the behind the couch idea sounds cool too.
I recently bought one at an Occasional Sale in Minnesota, but paid more for mine. It has wonderful chippy aqua on one side and white on the other. I plan to poly it and use it with another door for a business venture.
Love your door and great find! So glad you grabbed it up, as you would of had buyers remorse had you let it stay.

RustyDiva writes: I love old doors too and the paint on this one is awesome! I would leave it and just poly the heck out of it. I have one hanging vertical over my couch with all my crosses on it. (posted under testing, testing) You could scatter small pictures or just hang it in all it's own glory like a picture. Whatever you do - share the result with us. Posted: 12:10 pm on August 11th
nansal writes: I love to take old doors and make corner shelves out of them. Cut the door in half, angle and attach a 1x1 in the middle back with screws. cut shelves and attach. add decorative trim and that's it. I think I have photo's of the ones I made. I will see if I can post them. I mad one out of Louvered bi-fold doors for the bathroom Posted: 11:59 am on August 8th
suewhitney writes: I'm with everyone else...I too have door envy. The color and patina of this door is perfect. I would not want to do too much to this door and take away its natural beauty. I'm liking the idea of adding just a few hooks and leaning against a wall or making it a focal point as a room divider. Can't wait to see what you decide to do with it. Good luck!

I think I've decided if I had it at my house I would prop it against the wall behind my couch, add a big rusty hook and display a treasured old picture from it.
