Play the Music, Not the Instrument
16 commentsWell, I must admit the Piano Paper Roll JMS Challenge, was just that, a serious challenge for me! First of all, I’m not sure if you’ve ever worked with these bits of paper fun, but they are very brittle and tear easily – plus, I rarely incorporate paper into my art, so this project had me stumped. Then, on top of that, my rolls weren't in English but Lithuanian(!) so I couldn’t pull a design theme from words in the music. Hmmm – what was a girl to do?

"To receive everything, one must open one's hands and give."
5 commentsI love this quote and feel the vintage glove forms carry the message really well. They are attached to an old piece of galvanized metal and I used my vintage typewriter to type the message on an old clay coated flash card.

Here's my first real "junking" piece - a push lawnmower lamp I made with my father over 10 years ago. I decided it would look good up against my blue wall shining on the metal "GATHER". It is sitting on an old hospital gurney but that's for another post...
