I have a huge fondness for Ironstone. The problem, sometimes it can be way too expensive. But if you want to start a collection, and don't want to spend a ton, look for the pieces that have been well used. I seem to have more of attachment to them anyway.

Here are a couple I just finished for a client using vintage trophy toppers as the primary focal point, stacked foundry molds as the base and glass domes on top.
