My Newest Angels

1st Pump Organ Project

I've made so many tables that I've really lost count. I thought I'd share a few with you.
OOPS, More angels!

Great job! If you come across 2 windows you can do the same thing only hinge the windows together and you have a little showcase. (I posted one last fall. Don't know if you can go back that far or not.) Keep up the good work!

Re: My Newest Angels
Thanks for all of your wonderful compliments! I've missed that "boost" I get from all of you. I worked extra time in December to cover for our secretary and now it's tax season (Yes, I work for an accountant!) I sneak on when I can to see what all of you are up to. Sorry I haven't posted any comments, but please know that I LOVE all of your ideas and super junkiness!

Not that I've been out there much.
Midge- These were so fun to make, I'm sure you could put your own twist on them to make them even better. I sell angels year round and really don't change them for the seasons. The potato masher angels sold as soon as I took them to the store. After all, angels are always around us!
Keep up the good work everyone!!!!!!!!

Re: 1st Pump Organ Project
Thanks for the wonderful comments everyone! And thanks for choosing me for the Member Showcase. I'm flattered! It is so great to have someone appreciate the things we do. Some people just look at me like I'm nutso but what great fun I have junking. And the support I get from this website really keeps me going.

Georgia- I've missed being on the site. Our secretary at work was very sick so I've been doing double duty at work for the last 3 weeks. Next comes the dreaded tax season (I work for an accountant). But I always make sure to sneak in whenever I can to see what wonderful ideas you all have come up with.
LuAnn and Midge- We were on the edge of the storm that got snow, sleet and freezing rain so it kept the snow amount down. (5 or 6 inches maybe?) But it was pretty slippery out there. And now they are calling for more! Oh well. At least we will have a white Christmas!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!!!!!

Hi Amber! Welcome! These are great doors. I don't know how sturdy they are, but I had a front door just like yours and I made a table out of it. Getting a piece of glass cut for the top was quite expensive, but it was still a cheaper dining room table than you can get at the store. Let me know, if you want I can post a picture of my table.

Re: A couple more angels
Thanks everyone! I'm having so much fun with these. The skate angel seems to be the big hit. Clair, my sister gave me a bag full of these old metal bows she picked up for pennies at a sale. There were all sizes and begged to become angel wings. I sell my items at a store in Blissfield, MI called Patina. (Lots of antique stores!) Great place for anyone to check out if in the area. Cynthia, I'm not really sure what the wings on the canning jar angel were really for but I think they used them in floral arrangements. They are large foil covered cardboard leaves that had wire attached. Once again, begged to be wings.

posted: 3:08 pm on October 28thThe molds do have the faces right on them. When I antique them, it brings the features out. I found a Santa face mold this weekend and will be trying that out soon. On the regular faces I glue on, I bought a CD on Ebay that has hundreds of old pictures. Kind of expensive but I've already gotten my moneys worth out of it. That is where I've gotten most of the faces. If anyone needs any, I'd be glad to email some to you. Just let me know!!

Thanks everyone! I took the Santa mashers to the store yesterday and everyone just lost it. I really enjoy when my items put a smile on someone's face. Georgia- The faces in the first three pictures are made from paper clay using push molds. The Santa faces are just pictures glued to round wood balls. The clay faces are much more time consuming but really have much more character. Thanks again all!

Re: Witch Potato Mashers
Thanks everyone! It's really fun to come up with the different ideas on these. (Hey LuAnn- how's things up by you. Adrian is getting COLD!) I made this type of face using a push mold and paper clay. Instead of scraping off the back to be flat, I keep it rounded, like a head would be, then stick a wooden dowel in it. This type of clay just air dries, no baking. If you want hair on it, I stick wires in it before it dries to attach it to. Paint, antique and whallah, a head. On the angel masher that I used in my member profile, I just used a round wooden ball I took off something and glued a face on it. Either is cute. The clay is a little more work.

So I put them together and cut the top into a boat shape. I had a piece of mirror cut the same shape. Great for cottages. Can I ask you how you attached your mirror?
