I have worked as a floral designer for many years and also as a horticulturist for a Pittsburgh shop. I'm a gardener, but mainly, I'm a fiber artist. Since 1997 I've been hooking rugs, mainly with recycled woolen clothing, but now I'm experimenting with other fabrics and fibers as well. I also love decorating with found objects(junk)and finding creative uses for things that would normally end up in someones trash. I have a great red hanging potrack that was the siderail of a metal crib. The other siderail is a vertical magazine rack, the spring hangs on a wall as a large collage of family photoes and memorabilia, and the head and footboard are lovely standing in the garden. I have the top of a wooden ironing board hanging with metal hooks as a coatrack in the hallway, and across from it, a discarded metal childs ironing board top fixed to the wall as a message board with magnets. I love things with a history, and giving things a new life or purpose. We can all be pioneers, even today. I hate the idea that things need to be "new and improved". I love seeing my daughter curled up under a quilt that I made, and the primitive hooked rug showing the house she grew up in on her livingroom wall. I also like making things from vintage LP covers. CD's are good, but it's still nice to listen to Joni Mitchel on the old stereo from time to time.

Re: Vintage Rotary Phone Clock
I love it. Very original-and timely! Many people nowadays have never even seen a dial phone! Now I have another thing to look for- gotta have one! :-)
