I am a vintage and repurpose maniac! My favorite move is to find something I could just not live without, take it home and have my husband infer what a silly purchase it was, and then find him using the item and calling it his when he is looking for it!

No project yet; looking for actual purpose
Does anyone know the original purpose for this wood box? I have lots of repurposing ideas but would like to know what purpose it was in its original state.

Catching up on comments (long hours at work, sorry):

Joyful Interiors: exactly my thought but is a less than 1 inch deep and about 12x8 inches; smaller than it looks in the picture. Still think it is a type set hold of some sort; it has a number for each compartment.
Italianpeasant & ALVN: love the ideas; mine is small than the one in the link, ALVN, even a tiny Troll doll would not fit; I might even use it for bead sorting when doing that other craft I like.
Joyful Interiors and Shabbychick: loved the link too; mine is too small for a table top but -- everyone -- please keep the ideas streaming in.
Thanks to all for responding and for the great feedback!

ManWithNoName...welcome to Junkmarket Style...let's keep it nice, okay? A "ha ha" or a smiley face would have been suggestive of a good sense of humor. Contrary to many old beliefs that, unfortunately still exist, I welcome you to the junk world and hope you can keep up with the ladies -- AND any of the menfolk members! Ha ha ha -- I'm a new member too -- 40-60 hours a week at my "real" job and every minute thereafter thinking of junk and all the cools ideas for repurposing. Stumbled onto the website after purchasing book 2...need book 1 and the next one on junk outdoors!

Re: What Else To Do With Sawhorses and Shutters?
I don't know where you got that inspiration but could you please send me some through osmosis?!?!? That is such a great idea! I'm thinking vent hood frame if permitting would allow wood...gotta keep my husband from cooking! ha ha ha

I, too, am renovating an old home (old in humid South Texas is not old like old is in the northern states). I have 2 exterior doors that I hate to do away with but the wood has seen its better days. The center insert is 6 foot oval beveled glass for both doors. I am looking for some keen ideas to repurpose them in the renovation...circa early 1900s.

I was getting nervous because I kept getting Closed for Maintenance every time I would try to register but I could get to the other areas in the website. Today I was suggestful and am looking forward to lots of idea postings and exchanges.
