Two of my greatest interests are junking and crafting. I love finding items at garage sales, in flea markets and am not above adopting some unloved things from the side of the road.
I have been a crafter all of my life. I can remember as a child sitting at my grandmothers feet sewing primitive dresses for my dolls. She was a taylor and I was never allowed to touch the sewing machine. Imagine my terror when, after she left the room for a moment, I put my foot on the pedal and the machine whirred like a demon, bouncing up and down sending the straight pins she kept in an old ashtray on the machine flying all over the room - lol!
Ive crocheted, knitted, sewed, and painted. In the recent past I've been entranced by painting primitive country/americana designs on vintage items; kerosene cans, suitcases, old drawers and boxes, etc. This allows me to combine my two passions of junking and painting. One of my favorite designers currently is Terrye French. I love to paint her designs and draw a lot of inspiration from her. I have a shop on etsy called cottonridgeemporium.etsy.com where I sell most of my creations.
Ive recently moved back to my home state of Alabama.

Old Kerosene Cans
Kerosene cans are one of my favorite things to paint. Something about their having lived useful lives in the past attracts me. I've still got 3 more to paint!
Suitcases
Suitcases are one of my favorites. I wonder at all the places they've been and people who have carried them.

Re: Ol' Blue Door
I've been wanting one to make a hall coat tree out of. You know add a mirror and a shelf and some coat hooks. This looks better than any I've seen around here. Love the blue worn color. Good luck with it. glenda
