I would love to see the bases of the door table, as well. I have an old pocket door that I am planning on turning into a table for my dining room. I was wondering how expensive it was going to be to get a piece of glass to fit it?

This is a project that I have been wanting to start. I am asking for tools for Christmas to start on some of these projects & would like to know what kind of saw do you use for these? I don't have any big tools, & need to know the major ones I will need to tackle these projects so I can ask for them. Thanks in advance!

I have 2 old bed frames in my garage that i have been wanting to make a bed bench out of. I have no idea how to do it, so if you could please share how you do it?? I would love to get these benches done, sold(or kept!!) and out of the way so I can park my van in the garage this winter!!! heehee

I am so excited about this post! I live about 2 hours south of Peoria, so it's not that far for me to road trip to! Also, my sis in law, who just had a baby, lives about 20 minutes away from the riverfront!! I see a road trip in my near future!

I swear this is the same table I found at a yard sale a few years ago in Illinois only mine had wheels on it. It sat in my garage the whole time. I never could figure out what to do with it. I ended up giving it away. Darn!

I was jut getting ready to do one of these & didn't think of blowing the photos up to fit perfectly in the panes. I like that better! Doing that next week for my bathroom!!! Love it1

Using the shutters is an awesome idea since I just purchase some at a yard sale! They are actually swinging doors for the kitchen. I was going to post them to find out what to do with them, now I think i will see what that looks like.

I have a question? I have been looking at houses to buy & the last 2 had these wood burning stoves in them. Can you paint these & still use them? I hate the unsightly black color. I think that would make a world of difference.

SealBeachButterfly--I don't do a thing to it, besides straighten up the "dust ruffle" & the pillows. The mattress is a baby bed mattress, so it is waterproof(free from my neighbor), the foam padding I put on top I stuck in a giant garbage bag before sewing on the slipcover.

My mom in law told me to do that with the pillows, but when I made them, I wasn't planning on putting them outside. They don't get full on wet, but get moist when it rains, so they might eventually need replaced because of mildew. Don't know, but if that happens, the next pillows I make I will put inside a garbage bag before sewing it up.

Oh thank you! I was hoping it would be appreciated. My porch has been bare for about a year, because I didn't know what to do with it! I told my m-i-l that I was looking for some kind of daybed, but had NO idea that she had this sitting in her garage! She paid over $100 for it & it was just sitting there all dusty & covered with junk!

When I told her what I was planning on doing with it, she said, "Happy Birthday!". I live in a small town, but there is an antique shop on my block, so I went straight over there & bought the cutter quilts & old lace tablecloth. I had 2 pillowcases, embroidered with those little ladies on them, I put them in the middle of the front, but thought it was too much, so took them off.

I am just starting to re-use things & now I have so many good ideas, I can't wait to start on my other projects.

I only had one great window in my old house. It was in a picture window and it was a long rectangle shape with different colored glass squares around the edge. I kept it thinking I would use it for something, but didn't know what until now. I like the idea of putting the cutter quilt or something like that in it, making it into a mirror or I was thinking of maybe putting some family pics on the back side attached with the clear photo corners. Hmmmm........wheels are turning!

Love this idea!!! Going junkin' this weekend & am searching for a headboard & footboard!

What materials did you use to build this little getaway?? How hard was it?

My mother-in-law has a similar place in her yard. I will post a pic once I get one. She had a big overgrown tree on the side of her house. She cleared it out, planted flowers, put in a patio set with a chandelier & voila!! I wish I had one in my yard!!!
