Touchdown!
I wanted to make something special for my God son for the start of football season. I found this Tudor electric football game on the 127 sale. I purchased 12 frames online that were
Right up my alley!
The construction on the basement is finished. I am still finishing up some projects to decorate the space. Will post photos when it is complete! I found this hard shell bowling ball bag...

A Little Fall "Shopping"

Mannequin Makeover
I picked up this mannequin at a local estate auction. It had definitely seen better days. The dust alone sent my allergies into overdrive. I spray painted the stand and the topper black. I...
New life for a plant stand
I picked up this table at an auction. The top was gone. I picked up a cutting board at Goodwill and screwed it to the base. Then I added the metal top. Simple!

Nifty and Thrifty!
I purchased this lamp base at an estate auction last week. I was going to paint it, but once I cleaned it up, I discovered the brass material. It has such a nice patina, I decided to not paint it. I...
Another barrel of fun!
This barrel had a cork where the tree trunk is. I simply had to core out a little more to accomodate the tree. I screwed the tree trunk to the bottom of the barrel. This barrel originally just sat on...
Ice Cream Freezer Makeover...
I knew when I saw this ice cream freezer that it would become a base for a Christmas tree. I drilled a hole in the bottom, inserted the metal base of the tree and then reinserted the tree in the...
This one was 'sew' simple...
This sewing basket was coming apart. With some glue and some floral foam inside, it became the base of a tree. I put floral foam inside the basket around the base of the tree. I poked the truck of...
This project is a crock!
I had an old crock jug with a broken handle. Knowing it probably wouldn't sell in the shop with the broken handle, it became the base for yet another Christmas tree. Will the madness ever end?
And yes, there are more....
I decorate a lot of trees for the Festival of Trees in our community (I am on the organizing committee), but when they decided to suspend the event this year due to the economy, I was left with a...

Views from the 127 Corridor Sale
We had some fun along the 127 yard sale. Found some cute things. Will be posting projects soon.
Scrabble Tile Transformation
I found this end table at a garage sale for $3. It had just enough of a rim that looked to be the depth of a Scrabble tile. I brought it home, sanded it down, and put two coats of black gloss paint...
Pretty in Pink
I bought two old child-size chairs. The had an ugly gray vinyl on them that had seen better days. These were rock-hard. I dismantled them, then added a coat of black spray paint to the frames. I...
Renovated Message Center
This is an old frame that I picked up for .50. The print was ugly and part of the lattice was broken. As you can see, part of the lattice was missing. I repaired the lattice with a popsicle...
"Leaf" a Note
I picked up this old picture frame at an estate auction for $2! The detail of the tree branches and leaves is beautiful. I didn't repaint the frame. It was too pretty in its original form. I simply...
Chalk this up to a renovation
This is an old frame given new life with a coat of aqua paint and then distressed. A piece of sheet metal was added, painted with blackboard paint and inserted into the frame. I glued...
A "Honey" of a Bee Hive
I have seen this on other projects here on this site. This is just a bee hive creamer pitcher. I added a styrofoam ball, a little padding and some felt. Now it is a cute pin cushion.
Coffee Grinder Gets a Caffeine Boost
I saw this old coffee grinder at the 127 sale last year. It was missing the drawer, but it was only a couple of dollars. I didn't know what I was going to do with it at the time, but had to get it at...

This is an old tray that I gave a little "life"!
Vintage Cookie Jar Christmas Tree

Janie---love the tree! I would definitely keep the strainer. I think it really adds something to it. For future reference, the burlap bag isn't alway necessarily permanently attached. I take them apart all the time. Usually there is just a block of wood in there. I take off the wood and the insert the wire frame into floral foam in whatever container I have chosed to use as the base. I happen to like the burlap in the strainer though....

I almost got the frame for free. The frame was in a pile of stuff at the estate auction. Another bidder won the pile and then picked up some other item from the pile and started to walk away. I ran after him and asked if I he wanted the frame. He said no so I offered him a couple of dollars for it. He said I didn't have to pay him anything, but I felt that I should give him something since I was bidding against him. I was more than happy to give him $2!
