Through a glass lightly
I think it was Sue that said you could never have too many windows. I have had fun using mine many ways, but these are two of my favorites.
A Shakespearean moment
I call this a Shakespearean moment, because seeing this empty little area made me think of Will's words, "Out. Out, (*#@!) spot! A' la Sue, I looked around to see what I might have to fill the...
Frameous solutions
I think picture frames have the capability of multiplying themselves! No matter how many I sell at a yard sale, I still seem to have plenty. They do come in handy once in awhile...
Gotcha covered
My husband didn't want a rug on our wooden front porch, as he was worried about a rug holding water and causing rotting. To make us both happy, I painted one! Most people think...
Gone Crazy!
I'm not as computer smart as I would like to be. I think this is more a blog than a project, but don't know how to get it there. I live in a beautiful area that almost has it...
rescuing throwaway furniture
Mypassionispainting reminded me of two of my finds to which she will relate, I think. Don't know how to share them with her without putting them on my page, so guess everyone has to...
Upward Ho!
While laying on the couch looking at the ceiling one day, I decided there ought to be something I could do to liven the blankness of it. Photo 2 shows the center which was a plain circle I...
Simple things...
My husband and I love birds. To bring them into the house, (without having to clean a cage), in addition to the chandelier [see 'For the birds, too!] I have glued different 'knick knacky' birds to...
For the birds, too!
Since chandeliers are a current topic on the site, I thought I'd share my use of an old chandelier. In order to hang it where there was no ceiling light to start with, I put up the ceiling...
Pennyrugs revisited
I thought that member. Kim, who said she loves the penny rugs would appreciate this project, even though it's not the "real thing".When I found this beat up little antique table, I decided not to...
Fun Find
One of my favorite yard sale finds is this photographers antique tripod which makes a perfect birdhouse base, especially as it can be moved easily from one garden spot to another.
audballs
These bowling balls in disguise are fun to make and beautiful in the garden
Sundae in the Garden
A fish bowl, vases, plates and sundae dish garnished with opalescent stones makes sparkling garden totem

Re: Scrabble Surprise
I have made these for family and friends. May I suggest that instead of leaving the scrabble squares on the side as is that you add the family name....Jones, Smith, etc. I think it adds to the picture.

SantaClaus.....The glass isn't frosted, it is just the light that makes it seem that way, I guess. Actually it wouldn't be a bad idea to spray frost on the back when done to add to its visability :]

Very nice! [If you ever find another breadbox, you might consider turning it into a porch mailbox. I love mine, and packages, magazines etc. all fit nicely.]

Great ideas and lovely job! I hope you have one journal
posted: 11:13 am on August 8ththat keeps a picture record of your projects, too. I started doing that not long ago, and not only enjoy recording my efforts, but my grandchildren love to look through it and exclaim over it. It encourages them to try doing different things, too, and to start their own project journals. I'll have to help them make covers like yours
for their books.....thanks for the idea.
Re: Any Ideas ?? I'm stumped!
This is a great piece, and I can think of many uses for it. But if you don't want to do a lot to it - "fussy or cluttered" - I envision it with small lidless boxes (matching or variety of plain colors) or baskets to fit the holes, nice labels or tags on each box/basket, and all the odds and ends put in them: eg tacks, paper clips, pencils, glue.....or craft items, etc....you get the picture.

Re: Our Name in Junk!
Sorry, you asked for suggestions and I forgot to tell you that my junk name sign {glued on a framed mirror) only has two of the letters you need, but might be helpful. For the A I used a large protractor, and had an A-frame style picture stand on standby before choosing the protractor. For the I, I used a pizza cutter and put a watch face in the center of the wheel which gives it the dotted i look. Just a couple of ideas your welcome to use, too, if you'd like.

Wonderful finds! It looks like you have the ends of a bench there on the ground. If so do you have plans for them yet? I have some I haven't quite found a way to use yet, other than building another bench. Anxious to see your project completions.

I love the look; very creative! You did a great job with your finds, and I can imagine how fun it is looking for the right shapes!

Great job! Did you use a stencil for this? Pattern is so perfect.....I certainly couldn't do it without one. If so, did you create it yourself, or can I purchase that stencil somewhere? Would love to know. Thanks.

OH, MY! (Where does that expression come from anyway? Oh, my what?....Sorry, I got distracted.) B&W is my very favorite combo, and I have to be careful my whole wardrobe isn't just that. The others have said it all, but I think Monakent's word CLASSY fits it all best!
posted: 10:32 am on July 23rdre the Manikan/Mannequin's name.....if you spell it the first way and drop the first and last letters you have Anika; and if you do the same with the other spelling you have Anne Quin. Either sound like good names to me.
Re: Well.......Trying to figure site out...but....
Welcome! I'm sure we are all waiting to see all you have to share. I know the feeling! If your kids can't help, go to picrezize.com and it's easy to change your photos to 400 pixels there. Good luck!

Love the idea. It would be fun to use plates as a name sign on a home or gate. What is holding the plates to the pipe? Are they in plate hangers? Thanks!

Great idea! I volunteer in a second hand store (groan...hard not to take home half the donations)...and there are so many pretty plates and fancy glasses that just sit there. Maybe I can create a few to entice patrons to want to make their own. Thanks!!!!!!!!

P.S. I hope you are going to make something compounded of ALL the contributions together - or a least 5 per project - rather than individual projects. What's the plan?
Re: How To Resize Photos
posted: 8:37 pm on July 18thGood to know. Thank you!
Another great [free] site to use is www.picresize.com if you want to play with your phot or crop it,frame it etc. Easy to use also. [The only caution is that when you size to 400 you need be sure you click on pixels and not leave percent on or your picture will be huge instead of smaller.]
Re: audballs
Thanks for the welcome and all the kind words! To answer a few questions.....I fill the holes w/grout, cement or plaster then paint the ball with gesso. This helps the pieces or design stay better. My favorite glue for these projects is 'goop', as it dries fast and holds well. The design on audball3 is made with dimensional fabric paint. I then painted w/metallic paint; sprayed it w/turguoise paint and wiped immediately with cheese cloth. I then rubbed dark brown shoe polish all over it to give the patina.
posted: 12:30 pm on July 17thI spray all my audballs with verathane or urathane to preserve them in the weather.
Hope this helps.
