Proud Texan and vintage hoarder. (Well, a very organized hoarder)

I have been collecting vintage treasures/junk for many years. I have been told "born too late" throughout my life. I venture off to estate sales, garage sales, thrift stores and antique festivals on a weekly basis. Half the stuff I come across I keep, the other half I upcycle/restore. I love the idea of giving something a new purpose instead of a one way ticket to the landfill. Don't get me wrong. I am no hippie that drives a Prius and reuses bath water. I drive a 1954 Oldsmobile that gets 8 miles to a gallon. But hey... I only drive once a week if that helps.

I look forward to the challenges that comes with saving a vintage item. Sometimes it can be frustrating when tools won't cooperate and spray cans become temperamental. The reward at the end is worth all the !@#$&%@# and occasional bruising.

Thanks everyone! Hootie was sold yesterday. The buyer told me he will be a surprise graduation gift. Perhaps he will share his wisdom with the new grad :)
