OldBarnRescue
St. Louis, MO, USmember

We continue to produce unique home decor by reusing the old barn wood, doors, hardware, windows, buttons, faucets, nails, you name it! We have a love for giving new life to vintage materials through the process of rescue and recycling.
My husband generously cuts all the wood for us. We try to preserve as much of the color and shabbiness of the original paint whenever possible. Then with the many old, crazy items we have collected, we let our imaginations go to work.
In addition, Adonna brings over 20 years of experience as a freelance lettering artist and adds extra flair to many of our products with her beautiful hand lettering.

Glass Flower
Simple, sweet, and functional. This little "flowery" glass base and an old glass door knob are a perfect combination.

Sing your song for windows restored
We had collected quite a few old windows over the past few years and were waiting for the right "something" to renew them and give them life. When we began our wall graphics division this Fall...

Faucet with wings!
We just finished this custom order for a client. She was thrilled and we were quite happy with it as well. We painted some of our barnwood and added the old hooks and buttons she...

Old door key holder
This one was so fun to create because we were able to keep the original door knob and latch attached. We turned the section of the door upside down, added old drapery rod...

Beep
Fun for a little boy's room...When we came across this vintage firetruck, we knew it would create a fun piece. We still have some old wooden letters, so we decided to put them together...

Blossom
This one was inspired by the old tart tin that screamed "flower". We added an old metal rod and rusty hinge for the stem and leaves, then put our finishing touches with old game tiles and...
Beloved
One of our favorite mirrors! We placed a mirror in a door panel, framed it with velvet black ribbon and some old buttons, added some old game tiles and reclaimed square knobs. It's now...
License plates are the key
We had fun creating this one! The wood for this key holder is some from my childhood barn. We added some letters from old license plates, screwed on 2 skeleton keys, and...

I agree, leave them as they are. They can definitely be used in a corner somewhere as a table/book stand. Chairs like these can "cozy up" a corner almost anywhere with a very simple statement. I also like the plant stand or towel stand ideas. Can't really go wrong.

it was actually a little glass base -- probably from an old light fixture of some kind -- so fortunately it came with a hole in it. Too great to pass up when we found it in a box of junk at the ReStore.

Yes, the pink chair is also a redo :) My neighbors were putting it in the trash and I snagged it -- It was suppose to go in our booth at the show, but the color went too perfectly with my cushions on my glider (also, a trash find) HMMMM, seems to be a pattern here. Thanks, everyone!

We actually didn't have to cut the letters ourselves. We bought them at a flea market already cut. We have tried cutting them before and did not have success either, so that is why we grabbed these when we saw them. Maybe someone else has a tip.(?)

Great pile!! Endless possibilities! I agree that the round metal things that look like movie reels could go on the wall just as is! -- or one would be cool as a large clock! Could they also be paired with the spindles and made into small stands or tables? Can't tell how large they are. (They could be great displays, adding height on a mantle, bookshelf, etc) Love the stars just as they are, too, or again one would make a great clock. Great metal baskets -- so many storage options! Look forward to seeing what you do.
