Great topic! In regard to your first question, Would you do a junk wedding for yourself or your daughter or daughter-in-law to be? As a mother of an adult unmarried son, I would say for a daughter-in-law/daughter to be it would depend on what she would want for her/their wedding. I would certainly love a junkstyle wedding, tastefully done, but again it would depend on the daughter-in-law/daughter to be and what her dream wedding would be. I certainly would choose a vintage wedding dress over any strapless version of today. I cannot tell you how many young brides at weddings I have witnessed yanking up their strapless gowns so they won't fall down and expose themselves.

Very nice frame!I made one similar into a shelf. However, I cut into the drywall of a wall, the size of the picture frame, and did shelving in the open space between studs (16 inches apart studs). I then placed the frame, permanently (liquid nails) around the opening in the wall. It looks as if it is a built in.

Suggestions: I would leave them rusty and beautiful just as they are. Perhaps you could use steel wool to certainly take orange rust off of the bottom as to how they would sit as candle holders as not to damage what they will be sitting on. Or if you choose, use steel wool to take some of the rust off of entire piece. Or another possiblility. Leave them as they are and cover bottom with a nice fabric. Perhaps felt or velvet with our friend Gorilla Glue as not to scratch or mark what they will be sitting on. Just a suggestion or two.....

posted: 6:35 pm on July 24thRe: Faux Painted Walkway
Thank you for all the lovely comments regarding my faux walkway. I used paint made for cement. I took a real brick that I liked to the paint store and matched the red color and I just chose a grout that I thought looked like cement grouting. I don't remember the colors and the containers I took to the the paint recycling center. I added a good bit of sand to the paint just until I thought it was a good consistency. I painted the entire slab in the grout color, let it dry, then I used an ordinary kitchen sponge to sponge on the brick, using the sponge in two different directions. After that dried, I literally went over it rubbing dirt randomly in spots where the cement and sand was higher etc.
