Deidre Perez Norris, Lakewood

Im a dumpster diving DIVA and Alley Crawling CHICK.
It's like a drug to me. The high I get when Im driving down an alley and I see something a far. My heart beats faster, then I jump out of the car and grab it. It could be covered with weeds, dirt or other mystery substanse. I dont care. I bring it home, scrub it, tear it apart and start creating. I could have something in my workshop for months until it becomes a jewel again.

In May 2009 I've started a new business with two other FAB Junkers (Claudia and Suni). We're named...JUNKIES~~A Sisterhood of Travelin' Junk.

More info at www.myspace.com/3junkies

My profile photo is a Vintage General Electric School Drinking Fountain that I got at a auction for only $10.

I brought it home and gutted it out (with the help of my husband).

We primed it, painted it, put in a 5 gallon bucket, filled it up with water and put in a water feature pump.

VIOLA! Its a Bird Bath.

The birds love it!

I hope you will enjoy my soon to come other before and after photos of my projects.

Happy Junking!

Re: ~More Glass Garden-Art~

I find the driftwood on the beaches.

I sometimes get them at a taxidermy shop down the street from my house. I pay him a $1.00 a piece. That's when I'm feeling lazy.

The other day I was at a g-sale and noticed a perfect piece of driftwood in the yard. I asked if I can pay them a $1.00 for it. Of course they said "YES". ☺☺☺☺

I'm still working on my twist for the garden-art. I'm having a hard time with it. BUT, I did come up with another NEW twist that's a bit easier.

Finished garden-up with the new twist will be completed this thursday August 13th.

Re: Yard Sale is all done Up JM Style...The Details

I LOVE your set-up

Re: ~More Glass Garden-Art~

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I soooooo love this site. It really, really inspires me.

@audlyenuf The center of most pieces are either a marble or a bejeweled diamond.

@fellowjunker My husband surprised me with these around 3 years ago for Mother's Day. There's 4 of them going around the tree with 4 different cool metal pieces.

I bought around 20 of these metal pieces from a garage sale for only $50. They're remnant punch-outs from an industrial stove maker.

Now there filled up with clematis. I'll share a photo's soon.

You all have a Happy Junky Day!

Re: Junk Finds in my Gardens

Hi Gretchen,

I just love your cool Garden-Art.
We have the same taste.
I love finding treasures on the streets or dumpsters, etc... bringing it home and put it together to make a piece of art.

Your ART is FAB!
