Re: whatnots and thrift store finds ;)
Great finds, and a steal on the cabinet doors. Some ideas are to paint out the middle with chalkboard paint and leave the outer part as a really nice frame for it. Or you could attach some kind of hook down the middle of the narrower ones and turn them into coat racks. You could cut them down the middle (making 4 sides in each size) and make really nice boxes for storage. You could also use them as shelves. You could also attach baskets and brackets holding jars and turn one of them into an organizer. So many possibilities :)

You can build a small shelf to go behind it and use this as the facing, you could even make it hinged and cover the opening with chicken wire. You can attach reclaimed wood into the opening and attach pot holders for terracotta pots and plant in them, or you can attach cut water bottles to plant in, or one/two small crates to hold kitchen or bathroom items. You could put mesh in the opening and hang on the wall as an earring holder.

It's amazing how much better so many thing look when they are no longer that ugly dark oaky brown. You did a wonderful job here. Great combo and I am a big fan of multifunctional! I would LOVE to be served some cookies on this... oatmeal chocolate chip perhaps?
