i found this yesterday in the dusty old junk room at my local flea market.  i think its the head to an old cultivator, but is it not the coolest?
this is some of the stuff ive found over the past couple of days...i am enchanted with the strappy thing hanging on the wall...it is from an old cistern.  fun, yes?
this old washtub is sitting out in the rain right now.  it needed a bath but is going to look awesome in my laundry room doing what it does best.
more of the small stuff ive picked up lately.  the hand mirror/picture frame is too much fun, and how do you LOVE the game boards?  there were plenty more where those came from but they were just a little dear...am stewing over them.
these are presents (!) my son and husband have brought me from recent hikes along an old railroad (its really a trail now, they are not walking along live railroad tracks)

I am new to this site, but not to the junk world.  I'm just glad to know there is a "support group" for people like me...who knew?  Here are pics of a few things I have found recently.  Had good days Sunday and yesterday, today not so much.  I am still on the hunt for something, I can't tell you what, exactly, but I'll know it when I see it.

Sorry I don't have photos of any finished projects...I will have to see what I have.  Usually when i am done with a piece, it becomes a working part of my household and I kind of forget that it was ever junk.  If it doesn't become part of my household, it goes away to the junk boneyard.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to being here.  I've spent several days reading through a lot of posts and am impressed with much of what I see.  There are some amazing minds on this list!  Hope you like my new toys.

georgiamoon writes: Great stash. I had about 15 feet of the strappy cistern water thingys hanging on your wall and I cut it into pieces with three of the tiny buckets per string and planted small succulents in them and they all sold at my shop. Everybody loved them. You have a lot of raw material there. Welcome to JMS and we can't wait to see more of your stuff, Georgia Posted: 3:00 pm on March 26th

I look forward to reading more of your posts.

monakent writes: LOVE your junk! Last night, I too had success at our local Salvation Army. I spent a long time digging around in a box of junk and came home with lots and lots of good stuff for about $8.00 (in fact, several people at the check out kept asking me why I was buying the stuff I had on the counter and what the heck was I going to DO with it all???). I can't wait to get started on some new projects. All I need is more junk....

I am a new member as well. Isn't it wonderful to have fellow-junkers who can relate to what we find fun and exciting? Ever since I found the magazine "Junk Beautiful" and this site, I have been on the website at least twice a day. I haven't been this motivated since college, working on my art projects.

Can't wait to see your stuff!!! Posted: 7:35 am on March 26th
