Inspired by Candys, aka Junk Sophisticate, Totally Tubular Floral creation.
Sugar molds are expensive so I made my own.  One piece of wood for only $6!!  I made 12 of them!  And they cut if for me.
I used a 5/8 drill bit which would fit the test tubes that I got.
I used gel stain that I had on hand.  Once dry I put wax on it to protect it.

One of my favorite "Junkers" is Candy at Junk Sophisticate (www.junksophisticate.com).  I fell in love with her Totally Tubular creation and wanted one of my own.  I couldn't find cigar tubes and the sugar molds were pricey.  So, I decided to make my own!  I used a 4x6 piece of wood and test tubes instead.  Thank you Candy for the inspiration!  For more pix of the project, please visit my blog http://www.downhomediy.blogspot.com/

junkermidge writes: Very nice project! It turned out great, I especially like how the green of the ribbon matches the stems. And I think your inspiration has inspired me as well. I've got some stubby, chunky lumber I wasn't sure what to do with -- now I've got something to try. Thanks to both of you!

I appreciate the shout-out but give complete KUDOS to you for starting this from scratch!! Way to go!
