Spring TIME!
Before...an old drawer front - it wants to be painted a pretty color, and have its knobs replaced!  And, it wants to do more than hide in the basement...
Ta-da...a whole new life - new color, pieces and parts, and function!
Now its TIME for some touches of spring...
Well...the flowers arent real (this photo shoot was spur of the moment...I was putting off washing some windows, so had to make do with what I had! ha ha).
Spring TIME!

Spring TIME!

I've been inspired by everyone's great spring projects and pretty florals - so...here's my first project for the fleamarket/spring season - with a touch of spring.

I guess it's pretty obvious I used an old drawer front (ugly brown...), and gave it a wave of the magic wand (aka my paint brush), and added some elements to make it functional.  A metal basket (from the thrift store), and a wooden shelf (that I found at the thrift store too...and who knew - it fit perfectly!), a porcelain knob to help hold the basket in place and one down below - just to look pretty.

It's hanging in my living room for the moment - but it's on its way to our first fleamarket in Kentucky in April!  Lots more projects to go...better get busy (my next "assignment" is pincushions...they're lined up and ready to be "embellished"!).

P.S.  The other drawer had a totally different look/function - you can see on this earlier post... http://www.junkmarketstyle.com/item/1899/projects-for-the-scott-antique-market  (and, yes, I sold it!)

And, it's definitely something that could be changed out for the seasons...

greencolleen writes: so how functional is this piece? i would put an s hook on bottom drawer pull , for keys. and put my cell phone on the shelf. and would the planter be too cute with an arrangement for each season? so to me this is year round!!! good job. Posted: 10:34 am on March 26th

Junk_Sophisticate writes: So sweet! I think I recognize that clock from your purchases at the flea market/garage sale from last month, right? Your display gets me in the mood for spring, Kathy...even though it's in the 30's and 40's here.

Take care,
