I saw BlackDogSalvages post with all the insulators and thought I would share this.
Any brilliant ideas on how to hide the cords?  I know!  Find more insulators!

At Christmas time I put all my insulators on a window sill and added lights and greenery.  I removed the greenery when I took the decorations down.  I didn't have the heart to take down the insulators.  I think they're going to have to stay up year round.  What do you think?

TrinketFarmer writes: Great use of insulators! I have a number of them and use them for all sorts of things. I haven't done anything like this though! So great to see other ideas.

Love how you displayed them in your window! Posted: 7:24 am on December 10th

I guess I never really tried to do much with them, I've always thought they were too heavy or something...these projects prove that I was wrong about that. Thanks for straightening me out, Georgia Posted: 4:39 pm on February 11th

suewhitney writes: Great way to display and light up your insulators. I actually like the cord exposed. It lends an urban appeal.

Take care,

Faeryhollow writes: This is another beautiful use of these charming old insulators. There seems to be no end to the fabulous ways to display them! I'd leave them up year round, also. You could consider weaving grapevine or a simple garland around the cord to hide it.

I vote for year 'round! It's way too pretty to take down! These would probably look cool with some of those little battery run votives (no cords to hide!)

I have several victorian santa's that I can't put away. I just decorate them for every holiday throughout the year.

I love the window by the way.

MelHow writes: I've seen these mounted on a board - with a board you could hide the cords along the back or underneath (depending on how much work you want to do) then pass them up through the board.

Another option would be to buy those electric tea candles that flicker like real candles.

Did I mention how pretty these are? I like the window you have them in - it frames them and makes them a focal point. Posted: 5:50 pm on February 10th
