I bought so many Blue Willow tea cups at a flea market as the price was right. Some had a slight chip so I turned them into bird feeders. But you can just use them as decoration as well. I have a big deep Blue Willow Bowl that has a slight crack that I may just plant some flowers in & add attach the metal rod. But, any tea cup and saucer will do!

ela1203 writes: I would try a strong epoxy glue. They do make a certain epoxy glue for glass. I saw on HGTV where they made a cake stand using plates and tea cups as a layering method and the host said it was done with a strong epoxy glue. I am not good either with power tools but my boyfriend helped me out and got me started. So good luck and let me know if you did it with the glue. Posted: 11:01 am on February 2nd

Thanks for the compliments. I went to Home Depot and you can buy the metal rods at any length and thickness. (Just ask where they keep them as I don't recall the aisle) And right near the metal rods are the screw on nut packages that match the rod size. The first time I made one, I used a regular drill bit but then I found a bit for glass and ceramics & it made it much easier to whip through the glass and tea cup. After you drill the holes, then place the rod through cup and saucer and tighten with the nut. ( one inside the cup and one under the saucer ). After the first one, it goes a lot quicker! Also, you can mismatch the cups and saucers as well. It just happens I am a Blue Willow fan so I had many to use. Posted: 9:54 pm on February 1st
