From silverware to art supplies

I turned this old silverware chest into an organizer for arts and crafts supplies.  On the inside I put cork liner in the top and made button thumbtacks and also put an accordion file folder in the lid to hold papers, etc.  In the bottom I put an old wooden silverware drawer organizer.  I used old wooden spools to wrap ribbons and lace around.  Filled old bottles with buttons and now I have an attractive organizer to hold my supplies (like this will even come close to holding all of them).

MimiToria writes: I adore this! What a wonderful refurbish/repurpose you did on this piece. I love it! I've been watching for one of these to do this too, but really love the styling of yours. I will kick up my search a notch. I have 3 now that house silverware, but I want a empty one for repurposing.
Thanks for the great inspiration. I will bookmark this project for sure.

Thanks for sharing!

Welcome to the site, and thanks for the wonderful idea! I love collecting wooden boxes, but have never thought to repurpose a cutlery box!! Love what you did with your artsy chest! And even if they don't hold all your supplies, it's a start. Oh and by the way I LOVE your store/hotel, would like to come and stay, but live in MB, Canada and don't travel much. Happy junking,Di.
