A fashionable button bouquet
January 21st, 2009 in member junkWe're getting ready for our next show - and I had to do a new batch of vintage button bouquets and pincushions. This is my favorite button bouquet. I had a pint bottle that was begging to be used - and I had bought a bunch of patterns at a local thrift store - lots of very fashionable outfits...70s, 80s...(you know, stuff we - or I should say "some of us" used to wear...). I tore the covers off and rolled them up and slipped them (one at a time) into the bottle, and used a knitting needle to "kind of" place them, and then I'd add another - until I couldn't get anymore in... So, from all four sides, there are cute pattern girls peering through the glass. They're packed in there pretty well and shouldn't move. And, then I finished it off with some large stacked button stems.
I think I'll have to do some more of these - for the next show!
