I made the shelf from parts that I had found in my Dads garage, the center of the shelf and the knobs are from a Antique Sewing Machine Cabinet that had been dismantled. When I found the parts I thought this would be a perfect way to hang and display the quilt. I made the quilt and shelf for my Mom and Dads 45th Anniversary and that was 5 years ago. I didn't get quite so creative for their 50th.
