My daughter got married this summer so needed to come up with a new idea to display my special pictures.

My friend gave me these old moldings, I cleaned them with Murphy's wood soap, then used Old English scratch cover and finally applied a paste wax.

Heart_Strings writes: These look great! Most of the old moldings (also called crossheads in case you go junking) that I have found have been old painted white ones - I just knock off the really loose paint and hang them like that. I have also sanded and painted several of them and then stenciled a verse, name or saying on them. They have been very popular. I am new to the site so am looking forward to learning from all of you and getting some great ideas! Posted: 3:53 pm on January 18th

These make for some very nice shelves to display your special pictures. I love the incorporation of old architectural pieces into a home...lends great character. Nice work!

Take care,

You have created a beautiful, creative way to display your pictures! I love the color and the shape of the molding you used. They also coordinate very nicely with the rest of the room. Have fun. Di Posted: 11:18 pm on January 13th
