Simply glue an ashtray of your choice to a candle stick. Easy, easy!!
All that is needed for this project is an old ashtray (this one still had ashes in it!), a wide base candle holder, some gorilla glue and some vintage bling for your candle.
I picked up this candle stick in the clearance section of a home decor store and whitewashed it to match my decor.

Ever noticed the abundance of old ashtrays at the thrift stores? Many are beautiful crystal pieces just waiting to be re-invented. Here is a fun and easy project for giving these old beauties a new life.

"Whitewash"(to me)simply means thinning your paint with a little water (colour of your choice), putting a little on your brush (I wipe the brush on paper towel to remove some), then paint your surface. This way the original surface shows through. The alternative would be to paint as usual then sand to roughen up and show the underneath surface.
Hope this helps.....I seem to learn most things through trial and LOTS OF ERROR!!

Yes, texasjunker, it is a vintage bracelet. It didn't quite fit around the candle so it is tied in the back with some ribbon. I also wrap old necklaces around my candles.
Have fun!!
