Geo and I try to get together every couple weeks for some silly fun assemblage time and tonight was no exception! After stuffing ourselves on chicken parmesan (thanks Trader Joes!) we
went into the lab and came up with these little characters.
Geo found the hat flourish first and it said “baby”
to her so she found a great lock body as the basis, then some parts out of an
old piano became his arms (please note the pacifier) the legs are game pieces,
the stand was part of a wheel off an old cabinet.
But
that hat takes the cake! It is made with a metal edge off a paint roller and a shoe
from a vintage Monopoly game.
Here's a close up of baby's little body.
I wanted to make a little king and used a crown nut as his
crown, some sort of metal twirly thing for his neck flair, star washer nuts made
the epaulet on his shoulders, I have no idea what his legs are but loved the
crown zigzag at the bottom, springs adorn his sleeves...
...and he’s holding a scepter
in his mighty little hand. The red heart came off a vintage cocktail swizzle stick.
A closer look at those legs.
We laughed ourselves silly and fortunately had no mouse visitors this time! Thanks for letting us share our fun with ya’ll! We wish you could have joined us!

Geo, I just love your ladies hat, her legs, the padlock body and of course the stand you created for her is over the top perfect. Love this!
Jenny, I think it is very cool how you pulled together the crown nut crown for the head, and the crown looking bottoms of his feet to pull this into the King category.
I'd love to see what a Queen might turn out? I love crowns.
Thanks for sharing with us, I can almost imagine the laughter filling that lab was enough to keep the mice away this time. : )
