Once used to stow tools, this case is perfect for protecting all your treasured gems. With the many different sized drawers, that favorite pair of earrings won't get buried forever and you won't need a map to find the matching necklace.

Junk Market Style Difficulty Meter

Materials:
Vintage wooden toolbox
Fabric shelf paper

Vintage shaving mirror
One hole midget straps to accommodate mirror arm (ours were 1/4 in.)
1/4 in. screws
Wood finish

Tool List:
Screwdriver/Drill
Straightedge knife/Scissors
Ruler

Method:

Step 1: Remove all drawers from toolbox and clean box and drawers with a wood finish. We used Skidmore's.

Step 2: Measure and cut shelf paper to fit inside drawers and top of case. Put drawers back into original locations.

Tracing gets the outside measurement...

After some careful snipping and fabric placement, the drawer should look like this.

Step 3: Remove extra parts of the back of the shaving mirror, leaving one "arm" portion to attach to top of case. It may be helpful to spray the joints with a bit of WD-40 before attempting to loosen them.

Step 4: Mark location of mirror arm and midget straps, alternating direction of straps to steady mirror, and attach with screws.

Pre-drilling saves hassle and prevents screws from damaging the delicate wood.

Step 5: Reassemble mirror onto arm and tighten at desired angle.

Put it together the way you took it apart (only in reverse.)
