Train Case Pic-A-Nic Basket
August 16th, 2008 in projectsThis project was created by me and my pint-sized pals Morgan and Max
Melamed--resident junkers-in-training!
These two little pumpkin heads live in a suburban farm house
complete with 10 hens and two roosters and they LOVE to eat. They chose to
craft this citified country picnic basket. Go figure!

Materials:
Vintage
train case
Con-tact
Brand self-adhesive cork roll
Measuring
tape
Blue
painters tape
Scrabble
and Anagram letters
Polyurethane
glue (we used Gorilla Glue)
Tool List:
Scissors
or straight edge and craft knife
Method:
Step 1: Remove brads holding mirror and
then remove mirror.
Step 2: Measure mirror with tape
measure.
Step 3: Measure and cut cork.
| If using a straight-edge, be sure to cut on a flat, stable surface. |
Step 4: Remove paper backing from cork.
Step 5: Apply cork to mirror making
sure to press out all of the bubbles.
Step 6: Measure and tape lines for
letters.
Step 7: Apply a tiny amount of polyurethane glue to back of each letter and place on cork.
| Don't use too much glue-just a dab will do. |
Step 8: Apply glue to back of mirror
and re-attach to train case.
| Lay mirror on flat surface and allow
ample time for glue to dry before re-attaching to train case. |
Tip:Watch out for
Yogi.
After you make it, show it off to other members in the Member Junk area.
