Found a box of dogs license tags at the yard today..there must be at least 1000 or more. Have no clue what to do with them, but that's me can't pass on the weird stuff.

suewhitney writes: The King of Quanity returns. Ha! I have a very good girlfriend who lives in Texas whom I call the Queen of Quanity. You'd love to get a shot at her out buildings....right after I'm done.Ha, only kidding of course. We junkers are all about sharing the wealth. I really should introduce the two of you. Man, you will have projects galore here when you get rolling. You really should start by making a dog collar for the contest though! How appropriate. Everyone has given you great ideas for the holidays so I'll have my thinking cap on for other re-purposes. Can you tell that you have my mind turning? I just wrote a novel here. Thanks for the post and the sleepless nights it will bring me until I figure it out!

Happy Holidays,

junkermidge writes: Great score! My immediate thought was garland and hanging chains, too. The holes on each end make it easy, though time consuming. (Remember those cop shows from 60s/70s? They always entered "hippie pads" and every doorway had the beads hanging down. Personally, in the Midwest we strung pop tabs). Since those ideas are taken, maybe using for trim on say the edge of a shelf.

georgiamoon writes: Now I pictured them hanging by the top hole, covering a board or inside a frame for ultra chic shimmery wall art. Maybe put up with those little silver "L" hooks so there would be movement. I think they are cool but I would be a daunted by the sheer number of them. Lots and lots of projects with these babies. cool find, Georgia Posted: 2:43 pm on December 19th
shamrockerin writes: not to be a downer, but is it possible that these tags were taken off dogs that were euthanized at a kennel/vet's office?

Just a reminder to everyone (especially around the holidays) to spay/neter your animals to decrease the unwanted cats and dogs and please adopt animals from shelters- every animal deserves a loving home. Posted: 2:06 pm on December 19th
CottageElements writes: Damon, I think you need to use them to make a collar for your entry in the Junk Yard Dog Contest (of course!). Get creating! Haha!

Just kidding. If you celebrate Christmas you can always string them together to make a cool garland. Add some red junk to them to make them really festive. Make keyrings out of them too.

Meadowview_Farm writes: So...when I was a teen ager in the 70's - I always wished for a beaded door entry...picture strings of large plastic beads hung in the door frame that you entered "really cool" through. That was my first thought when I saw your box of dog tags...hook them together with rings, end to end and hang them in a window or....a door. This would be loads of work, but just think how cool you would be!
