Originally blue.  I had some leftover paint and it just seemed to be asking me to paint it.
I cut the bottom open stem to stern with a jigsaw for drainage.
Ive learned that newspaper makes a wonderful week barrier.  Effective, biodegradable, free, and plentiful!!! A coat of yellow paint and a thick layer of newspapers.

My neighbor gave me an old blue canoe.  The keel was damaged and it wasn't fit for canoeing so I painted it yellow and converted it into a flowerbed.  Cut the bottom open with a jigsaw, painted it yellow, put dirt and plants in it. Then it providentially capsized in my yard.  I'll be super happy when it fills in, but I was too exciited to wait til then before sharing with you!
