My daughter needed something to hold her records and to not take up too much room.  So I was thinking we needed to go vertical.  I started with a vintage nightstand and custom built the sides and the rest of the structure.  The focal point is a vintage light fixture along with the on/off switch mounted in the center of a taillight up top with a vintage flashlight body carrying the cord to the rear.  I kept the drawers their original color and custom painted/distressed/waxed the rest of the piece.  I added chrome accents with some new/old stock I have of metal furniture edging.  To display records on the sides and enjoy their artwork, I mounted some antique toy train tracks to vintage wood block pieces.  A Monarch automotive badge adorns the front.  Old tin is the backing.
