roadside candle sconces made over
June 8th, 2016 in member junk
Back in April I found these sad looking wooden candle sconces on the side of the road with some other stuff.
I removed the little holder for the candle tapers, so that each sconce had just a simple little shelf.
Then I painted them white and distressed them. I already had the teacups (also roadside finds) that had been spray painted. The spraypaint didn't hold up to the outdoor elements, but now they have a lovely weathered look.
The two little decorative signs hanging from them were thrift store finds.
These are hung on the beams of my outside porch. I figured I copuld switch out the decorations with the seasons: the fall I can put mini pumpkins out, and at Christmas time I can also put some glittered pinecones on them.
