I was given a whole mess of decommissioned parking meter parts in exchange for a creation of mine.  I didn't want to make the usual lamp using a parking meter.  After a good two months, the idea finally hit.

I started with the flower head using four identical parking meter sides.  The stem finally came to "fruition" after a visit to Lowes.  The leaves were custom cut out of vintage silverplate serving trays that had these designs in them that worked perfectly for leaf veins.  The bottom was constructed and supported heavily to prevent bending or turning over and then a LOT of rocks for weight.  The parking meters turned into a 35" tall BEAST!  Feed Me Seemore!!!

JunkArchitect writes: Very creative piece, Brian. And, speaking of potted plants, it would make a great plant stand too. I love the color of the meters.

suziart writes: That is pretty cool, Brian...I love all the little details...the silverware use and the vintage tray with the leafy could also be a bird feeder if the round middle section has some depth...a great perch for birds to "park" themseves for a bit!!!
