I wanted to give the rosette a bit of protection, so I worked linseed oil into it with an old toothbrush.  I didnt expect this much shine to stay with it, but I think it works, it brought out some depth and detail.

I thought this old toolbox planter was a bit blah on its own...added a piece of wood salvage and an iron rosette from my junk stash.  Five minute makeover!
