I was inspired by a similar item in a catalog. It was $159 for this size. Mine cost me $10.
I dont know if you can see it, but when it is not being used, it is held against the wall by a latch. When it is in use, it pivots out and is held in place by a chain on each side.
Someone had given me some old windows. I used one of them for this project.
After this picture was taken, I added another dowel to the top.
For a latch I wanted something kind of rustic, like an old country shed door closure.

All I had to buy was hinges, chain, and dowels. Catalog item: $159. My cost: $10!
